On the Move

Heading north from the Three Rivers Petroglyph Site. The low clouds on the horizon turned out to be nastier than I thought.
Carrizozo and the Valley of Fires were socked in with fog as I arrived and I wasn’t sure it would clear today. Why pay for a campsite when I probably wouldn’t get to see much of the place? So I continued, crossing my fingers and hoping the weather would be better up the road.
OMG! Two Posts in One Day
I’m So Glad I’m an Omnivore
Tali the Coon Kitty continues her picky eating. Poor cats, the only true carnivores among mammals. They have so few options when they get tired of eating the same things. Tali leans toward seafood (and just where in the wild would a cat get that on a regular basis?!) but she’ll always forego her dinner to beg for some of mine. If there’s animal protein in it, that is.
Her current insistence is that I sprinkle her P*rina Fancy Feast with dry whole milk. Yes, I’m serious. That’s what’s coating the tip of her nose in the pic.
Me, I feel that any diet that doesn’t place pizza at or near the top of the food pyramid has a fundamental flaw.
Year End’s Odds ‘n Ends
Playing with Fire
I have been called an Apple fanboy, and there’s some truth to that. My first *pple was a “Fat” Mac in late 1984, purchased as an adult with my own money (i.e. Mommy and Daddy didn’t buy it for me). I stayed with the Mac exclusively, upgrading eventually to the first color Mac and supplementing it with one of the first Mac laptops, the PowerBook 180. But in 1998, when W*ndows 98 proved to be decent, I switched and built my own PCs for the next decade or so. It’s only in the past couple years that I’ve returned to *pple.
No Hurry
As it turned out, I got more work on Monday and Tuesday so the idea of heading to a new area was discarded. I can’t be unsure about internet connectivity while in the middle of a project. With the refrigerator part coming soon, along with two different packages to General Delivery, I think I’ll be hanging out in town for a while.
No biggie. Who’s in a hurry to go anywhere? Certainly not Tali. She’ll wait patiently in the co-pilot’s chair as long as it takes.

Tali's ready to move on down the road...whenever.
Cat Contentment
Yes, it’s the obligatory cat post. Here she is in her favorite place: the driver’s seat, which has a comfy Australian sheepskin cover. Or down on the floor by the pedals if it’s hot.
Tali adapted well to full-time RV living after a few hours of giving me “what the heck is going on?!” annoyed looks when we started out. A vast improvement over her behavior when we drove from Maryland west across the country back in 2004. Then, she yowled and messed herself for a day and a half straight. She would not eat, drink, or use the litter box. I got worried.
